Zukertort[D05]
COQ Invitational 2013
Montreal (2.8), 21.07.2013

Position 1
Wang tried to play the Zukertort without the light square bishop and got nothing special but black offered an ending with good chances for white given that black had two sets of doubled pawns.

The position now is relatively static. What do you recommend for white?

COM(Trois Rivieres) 2013 R3,GM Sambuev B(CAN)

Rd3
GM Sambuev used the Zukertort(again) to steamroller another opponent in a relentless attacking display. Black gets a horrible position right out of the opening but Sambuev still had to win the game twice.

White had a dream position after 8.d5(diagram) and caught black with a strong attack.

Here is the feature game.

C.O.M. 2013 (3), 16.03.2013

Position 1
Neither side is fully developed or castled but white has the initial aggressive intentions. What do you recommend for white?

  • 15.0-0(Completing development first before looking to attack)
  • 15.Bg5(winning a valuable tempo with a developing move to keep the initiative)
  • 15.Qd5(Spearing Ra8 with tempo to keep the initiative)
  • Something else
